Hello:
I just purchased the LG VX8300 with a 2-year contract from Verizon. SO far, I love the phone—I can't read texts, but It's a small price to pay, when I can add/edit/modify contacts with a pretty decent amount of practice.
I've heard-tell there is a talking caller ID on this phone, though I am verry unsure how to activate it.
If anyone could tell me what stepps I'd need to go through to do so, I'd be most appreciative.
I think you need to turn on Driving Mode. At least I think that's an option in that phone... After you push the little command button thinggy, say "driving", and that should work. Unless you're using a totally different phone and these instructions make not a bit of sense...in which case, I'm sorry!
You might want to join the lgvx blind users group just long enough to have all your questions answered. That's what I did a couple years ago when I bought the 4650 model. As soon as I knew how to do everything, I dropped off the list because it is pretty high traffic. I think the address to subscribe is lgvxblindusers-subscribe@yahoogroups.com. I could be wrong because it's been a long time, but I could look it up again if you're interested.
Becky, Liz:
I found a great tutorial on the phone. I'll put it here for reference in case anyone ever gets stuck like I was.
